So Many Men, So Little Time....

Lately I've posting my Hot Video Game Industry Guys each week and with the help of the boys over at Gaygamer.net, my industry hotties are taking their shirts off just for me.

Jason Hall's pictures had him posing in sexy muscle man look and when I posted Robert as my next sexy gamer, he opted to take his shirt off to show off his kung fu toned body. Nice, huh?

Well, then Mr. Destructoid who was my first hottie of the week decided to jump into the arena and show off his body in a Jason Hall type of pose. Nice huh? Best of all, he posted the pictures on Destructoid.com for all his readers to see. Now that's an amazing man.

Soon the Dtiod readers are going to accuse me of turning the dtoid editor into a Calvin Klein model. I love it though.

Again I ask all my readers to help me find more industry hotties to post each week. Send me a bio and a some hot pictures and I'll post them. Send them to faithnaked@yahoo.ca

Thanks in advance.

Sony turns cheap and pink

Posted by JonathanEx on the August 21st, 2006

Well, there’s been 3 bits of PS2/PSP news this morning, so let’s break it down and get into those:

1. Pink PS2
Sony will be releasing a Pink PS2 aimed at females and maybe more sensitive men (hey, can’t a man love his pink Gameboy Micro without being seen as gay?) on 8th November this year. However, more than being a rather cheap looking colour change, this actually seems like a good bundle for anyone looking to play the PS2’s back catalouge now it is going cheap. It contains two Dual Shock controllers, and 8mb memory card and in the UK only, Singstar Pop.
This bundle hits Europe only, at €159.99 - and £129.99 in the UK with the game included. Rival to another games console that may be launching cheap?

2. P!nk PSP
Another pink one! Sorry, P!nk one. The colour of the PSP is pink, and it includes an exclusive UMD with stuff from the Sony BMG artist P!nk. It’s a value pack so it has the accessories (in white), and it will come out 27th October, 2006 for £169.99
Within the PR spin about this not being about marketing (yeah right), there’s more stuff about how the pink colour shows that the PSP is also for women… and you wonder why many girls aren’t getting into gaming? Yes, it’s because the system isn’t in pink and it doesn’t contain a free disc containing stuff of a singer we don’t hear much of anymore.

3. PS2 Pricedrop!
Finally, some news I can’t say anything bad about in any way.
In a press release marked for Wednesday, the PS2 (presumably slimline, they don’t sell the large one anymore… do they?) will be getting a price drop with “immediate effect” (ignoring the fact we are posting this two days early). It will be dropping to £94.99 in the UK, and €129.99 in the rest of Europe. The 8mb memory card will also get a price drop, to €19.99… no idea with the Europe price on that.

With the success of Singstar and Buzz showing the PS2 as great as a ‘party console’, a price cut and these pink colours aren’t too much of a shock, unless you were expecting “major announcements” like Spong claimed would be coming.

If I were british and didn't own a PS2, and didn't have a guy living with me, I would buy a pink PS2. I already want a pink Nintendo DS, just to keep my hubby from playing with it! :)

Hot Video Game Industry Guy of the Week #2: UPDATED

Jason Hall, Senior Vice President for Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. CEO and founder of Monolith Productions Inc.

At first when I received pictures of this Industry Guy from two different people that maybe someone was playing a joke on me, because this guy looks more like a Mr. Universe candidate than a video game industry guy, but apparently this guy is for real.
Jason Hall, the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Monolith, is an obsessive gamer, a technology buff and an action fan who demands the best in interactive entertainment.

Mr. Hall's career covers a broad range of experiences, including stints as a stockbroker, a Marine, a musician/composer, a sound engineer and a game developer.
Prior to co-founding Monolith, he managed the sound department at Edmark and worked as an engineer at Broderbund Software.

Apparently this 6'6" hottie is very popular around the office because these lovely pictures I received via email have been making the rounds through the Warner bros. office email. Thanks, ladies!

Looking for the Best Video Game Sidekicks

Every game has a hero that we all look to save us from ultimate evil, but every game also has a sidekick that keeps that hero on the straight and narrow, and without him/her, the hero might not go on at the toughest points.

Frodo had Sam, Batman had Robin, and the Lone Ranger had Tonto. Sidekicks are more important then most think, so that's why I want to give the sidekicks of the video game world they're dues. I'm looking for your favorites: the best of the best sidekicks.

The Debate on Violent Video Games - Enough Already!

Jack Thompson on Attack of the Show

Last night I was watching the now famous video game violence debate between Jack Thompson and Adam Sessler on Attack of the Show, and this got me thinking that I am so sick of hearing this constant debate on whether or not, video games are the cause of violence in youth.

So allow me as a gamer to spell things out for all you skeptics out there; video games are not the cause of violence in youth today. Violence has been a part of our history for centuries and video games have only been around for the last 30 or so years, so how can you say that video games are the cause of a young teenage guy beating someone to death, when Hitler was killing thousands of Jews during WWII and he didn’t have any video games to influence his act. Did Caligula play Postal and then slaughter people for fun because of it? No, the game didn’t exist; he did it because he was a madman. Violence is a fact of life and as much as I don’t like it, we can’t blame video games, movies, or rap music for all violence in the world.

I’ve been a gamer since I was little, and I’ve played everything from Duke Nukem to GTA 3: San Andreas, and yet I am the most non-violent person you will ever meet. Just because I play these games doesn’t mean I wanna bash someone’s head in or want to shoot someone. Honestly if someone does watch an episode of “The Sopranos” or play “Postal” and then go out and hurt someone because of it, well then they needed help long before they played the game. Violent people will sometimes take the violent things they see and want to reenact them, but you can’t blame the game for their violence, because they will always find something to inspire them in the long run. They can watch the news every night and witness a police shoot out, or watch a football game to see the players violently tackling each other. Aggressive images are everywhere and no matter how hard you try to remove anything bad that may influence your kids, there will always be something horrible for them to see at some point. The best possible plan as parents is to make sure your kids are exposed to the kinds of things you feel they can handle at that age, and to also make sure they understand what acceptable behavior in the real world is. Playing a violent fighting game is fine as long as your kids are old enough and smart enough to know that body slamming their friends will hurt them in the long run.

I say let the game developers make whatever games they want as long as they are rated appropriately for the right age groups, that stores are required to only sell the appropriate games to the appropriate age group and then after that its up to the parents to make sure these games don’t fall into the wrong hands. I am gamer and I never want to see a 10 year old playing a Grand Theft Auto game, but as an adult gamer I do want games for my level of maturity and its not fair that I should have to settle for only kid safe games, because someone expects the government to remove these games, so they don’t have to actual play parent and watch what their kids are playing. We live in a free country and if I want to play a game that allows me to screw a hooker and then beat her to death, well then that’s my choice to do so. Who are you to take that choice away from me?

Basically my point is this, violent video games, movies, music, etc. are a part of this culture and if you don’t want to play them or have your kids play them, then that’s your choice not to, but don’t expect everyone else to give up their opinions to play them too, just because you feel this way.

No Bond Game with Casino Royale Debut

With the 21st Bond film, Casino Royale, opening this Holiday season, one would suspect a videogame adaptation to cash in on the movie's hype. Activision, however, is skipping this film to focus on a Bond game for the recently announced 22nd film, tentatively scheduled for release May 2, 2008.

The previous Bond video games (seven by EA between 2000 and 2005) have received decent to lukewarm reviews. Kudos to Activision for not milking the franchise for all that it's worth.

The next Bond, based on whatever movie follows Casino Royale, will be developed by Treyarch. Activision will release games based on Shrek 3, Spider-Man 3, and Transformers during the first quarter of fiscal 2008, which begins April 1, 2007.

My Weekend Interview on Destructoid.com

For all my readers who want to get to know the gamer that is me alittle better, than check out my interview on Destructoid.com.

The Fronz grilled me with lots of Video Game questions to prove my worth as a hardcore gamer and hopefully I passed the test.

Check it out here.

My Geek Fest in September

For the last few years, I've been hitting at least one sci-fi convention a year if possible. The major I got to on average is in Toronto each year and its run by Hobbystar. Its the ultimate convention because it has stuff related to games, anime, comic books, horror, and sci fi, and the entire top convention floor is merchants and their crap to sell. I love it!

Over the last few years of conventions, I've had the privilage to meet stars like Ted Raimi from Xena: Warrior Princess, Nicholas Brendon from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Kevin Sorbo from Hercules, and many others. I've gained a small but loved autograph collection, as well as some photos of the celebs I didn't get an autograph from (Too expensive).

I've picked up some useless junk over the years to from the convention, included two Dawn Action figures, a few Xena magazines, a few Dawn comics, Star Wars Figures from the 70s, etc. Nothing to write home about, but still loved.

This year I'm heading out again, and to add to my day of Geekiness, I'll be added in the experience of Video Games Live at Massey Hall. Here's a small writeup about the show and a video of the first few minutes of the event.

Video found Via Destructoid.com

This year they have only a few people I'm interested in seeing like Tommy Tallarico from Electric Playground, and Carrie Fisher from Star Wars, but all in all, I tend to go for the guys in Sailor Moon costumes. No, just kidding. I go for the hot asian chicks in anime costumes.

I'll have a huge story from all of you when I actually go on the weekend of September 1st.
Ciao!

World of Warcraft Video Idea

Maybe this exists already or maybe it just dying to be made, but does anyone remember the Disco song that was on the Expansion disc for Warcraft 2?

I would love to see someone make a World of Warcraft video and sync the characters to singing that song.

Maybe it could be a contest or something?

But if anyone does those kinds of videos, it would be neat to see that.

Or if it exists already, then post the link here.

Just a thought.

Why You Don't Wanna Turn Your Girl Into a Gamer?

[Writer's note: This is a satirical piece. I don't believe any of this really happens when a girl starts to play video games, so please stop posting comments like I think that way.]

As a girl gamer, I heard all about it: Guy gamers want girlfriend/wives that play games too. I see the articles all over the net that give tips on how to turn your girl into a gamer, but trust me guys, you don’t wanna do this. I’m not saying girl gamers are bad to date; I’m just saying that trying to turn the woman you love into gamer is not a good idea. If you love your woman the way she is now, you will take my advice and leave her the way she is. Girl gamers are only good when they come prepackaged that way.

Allow me to explain why.

First let me paint you a picture: You have this great girlfriend/wife. She cooks, cleans, goes to the gym three times a week, and loves to shop. She has a few annoying habits like spending too much time in the bathroom, hating guys' night, and always nagging you when you spend too much time playing video games. You love her too death though, and the only thing that would make her even more perfect is if she played video games.

Does this picture seem familiar? Well, if it does, then you don’t want this girl to be a gamer.

The first thing that will change will be her looks. That perfect hair, the perfect makeup look and amazing fashion sense will be no more, and instead you'll have a pony tailed, no makeup wearing girlfriend, who walks around the house in your old band shirt and sweatpants.

Those 5 hours that she use to spend in the bathroom will now be reduced to hour or two if you’re lucky, so she can squeeze in extra time to finish leveling up in Final Fantasy X. She will not shower on days off… oh and forget girl time at the spa; she needs that time now to harvest more gold on World of Warcraft.

Oh and that perfect little toned body; gone after months of her sitting on the couch, playing online Xbox arcade games, while she chats with hundreds of guys you’ve never met.

Next will be the sex life. Have you ever passed up sex to keep playing your game? Well, now so will she, and trust me women crave sex a lot less than guys do, so don’t expect to be getting a lot of it as long as there is a new game in the house. You’ll have to start hiding the controllers just to get a blowjob or two. This sounding good yet?

And while she’s spending all this time playing video games, where will you be? That’s right. You’ll be watching her play, because now you'll have to share the systems with her. That means you’re gaming time with be at least cut in half. Better hope that you have the house to yourself a lot or you're never going to see that controller again.

What was that you say? But you can play games together. Sure, you can. First you have to find a game that you both agree upon, and then you have to deal with the results of playing against your girl. If you win, she’ll pout and then you’ll feel bad. If you lose, you have to deal with your girl’s gloating and the fact that you got beat by a chick. Not cool, especially if it was a fighting game or a first person shooter you were playing.

And all those game nights with the guys; well now she’s going to want in on those too. No more belching, farting, drinking like crazy and taking about chicks. Nope, now she's probably going to want to make cheese platters or something for the night, instead of nachos and pizza, and the beer will probably be replaced by the 5 bottles of wine. Guys' night will never be the same. Also, you'll still have to deal with the game results problem here too. Your friends will feel bad if they keep winning against your girlfriend, but if they lose, they'll never step foot in your house again.

Remember all great visits to the game store to pick up the newest titles you wanted; well now she’ll get to tag along, and want to pick out games too. If you only have money enough for one new game, then you’ll have to compromise and you know how much fun that going to be. Plan on buying a lot of plat-formers and RPGs, dude. Oh, and that new Nintendo DS you wanted to buy. It’s going to be pink, because she thinks it’s cuter in that colour, and your game library will have Nintendogs, Super Princess Peach, and every other Mario title available.

Try explaining that to your guy friends when they ask why you have a pink DS. “Cause I wanted my girl to play video games with me.” If you’re lucky, she’ll get a Hello Kitty skin to cover it. Great fun!

Now remember that clean house you had, well expect it to look pretty nasty after a few weeks of your girl picking up a new game. Yep, she’ll spend hours a day trying to beat that final boss, while your dishes continue to pile high to the sky and laundry starts to cover the floor of your house.

So, now that you've heard what its like to live with a trained girl gamer, do you still want one? I didn't think so. Now go buy your girlfriend a new corset, some fish net stocks and a vibrator, so you two can enjoy the one think a man and a woman were meant to do together on a daily basis. ;)
