From Howl's Moving Castle, it's Calicifer the Fire Demon.
He is made completely out of perler fused beads. He works on a slot and tab system to snap together to make a base that holds a fake flickering tea light that lights him up in the dark to make him look like he is on fire.
You can watch him light up here.
This is a custom original design by myself at Pixelized Creations. Please do not recreate for commercial purposes. Credit me if you recreate for personal use.
You can purchase this awesome piece for $20 CAN plus shipping on my Etsy Store. He comes with instructions on how to assemble him and the tea light with the battery.

8-Bit Art: R2D2 Stand Up Pixel Art
Another new design out of my Pixelized Creations Etsy store:
R2D2 from the Star Wars franchise - this little droid is made from perler fused beads and he has legs that attached on either side of his body through a tab and slot system that allow him to stand up on any flat surface like a computer desk or shelf.
R2D2's legs are a custom design by Pixelized Creations. Please do not recreate for commercial purposes.
The body is another person's design but I was not able to track down the original creator as it has been recreated so many times.
You can purchase R2D2 via my Etsy store for $10 Canadian plus shipping.

Strategies on How to Save Twilight Fans Before They Rent or Buy
So tonight I'm going into work and at midnight, I have to stock the shelves with the new Twilight movie, New Moon. I'm a big fan of all things vampire except these books and movies. I watched the first film and laughed my butt of the whole time. Worst thing I've ever seen: bad vampire lore, bad dialog, bad acting and bad ending.
But tonight, tomorrow and Sunday, I have to deal with the uber fans looking for the new film, so here are a few various lines I plan to use on those who still might be saved from this horrible franchise:
But tonight, tomorrow and Sunday, I have to deal with the uber fans looking for the new film, so here are a few various lines I plan to use on those who still might be saved from this horrible franchise:
1. No, I'm sorry we're all out of Twilight: New Moon. Perhaps I can interest you in a better teenage/vampire romance storyline that actually has good dialog and acting in it? It's called Buffy the Vampire Slayer: the TV series and it was written by the same man who wrote Toy Story. You liked Toy Story, didn't you?Finally, if this doesn't work, I'm just going start throwing random copies of the movie out and make them fight for it. At least if I can't save them, I can amuse myself through the torment.
2. Really, dude ... Twilight? Listen, I know you believe watching this movie with your girlfriend will possibly get you laid, but there are other vampire movies you both can enjoy and will still keep your manhood in tack at the same time ... like Interview with the Vampire, Queen of the Damned, Lost Boys (if she's older) or Bram Stoker's Dracula. Come on, it's got Keanu in it. Girls love Keanu.
3. Again, I am not renting out copies of Twilight early but if you are looking for a vampire movies, may I suggest a movie written by an author who isn't a hack? Salem's Lot by Stephen King, perhaps? Or maybe I am Legend? We have the first Season of True Blood available and also Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire and Queen of the Damned.
4. Really Twilight? Man, that movie is for pussies. If you want to know what real vampires are like can I suggest some really bloody vampire movies and not this Queer Eye for the Creature of the Night crud? Check out Bram Stoker's Dracula, John Carpenter's Vampires, Blade (all three movies) and Underworld (all three movies).
5. Renting Twilight, huh? Gee, you must love bad vampire movies then. Can I suggest a few more? Check out Bordello of Blood, From Dusk til Dawn (Once the vampires show up, it gets hokey), Dracula 2000, Fright Night, Vampire in Brooklyn and Van Helsing.

A First Look at Batman: Under the Red Hood Movie
I managed to find the featurette on You Tube and posted it here. The movie follows the graphic novel, A Death in the Family which covers the epic story of death of Jason Todd's Robin.
This is going to be an awesome Batman movie.

Dr. Horrible's Sing-ALong Video Game?
My favorite Doctor in the whole world is at it again with a whole new project, though he really needs to finish his last one. Doc Octoroc has begun work on a 8-bit NES video game of Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog.
So far he's posted a few screenshots he's created plus three NES style arrangements of 3 songs from the movie: So They Say, My Eyes and Everything You Ever Finale.
Doc plans to make the entire score into NES style arrangements and make the movie into a NES style game which you can play. It's unclear yet the genre of game he plans to make it into yet but it should be cool to see the final product.
Till then, here's the link to the three songs he has up so far.

Bruce Campcall on World of Warcraft: the Movie

But what this gamer wants to know is, what part will Bruce Campbell play in it? Apparently great minds think alike because IGN.com found the famous Burn Notice and Army of Darkness actor at Comic Con this year and asked the very same question. Bruce, who only recently found out about Sam's job as the new WoW movie director, knew exactly what kind of role he would play in the movie.
Raimi imagined his old friend will tell him, "You play some schmuck. Some idiot guy. Some garbage man."Fans are already coming up with their own dream roles for Bruce which include ideas like Leroy Jekins, a drunken bar patron or anything that would include an Ash Williams reference. World of Warcraft already has an Army of Darkness reference, so including Ash in the movie would be cool but somehow I don't see Sam or Bruce doing it. So drunken bar patron #1, it is!
Bruce or no Bruce, I personally am looking forward to checking out this movie when it does hit theaters in the future. I'm also looking forward to meeting Bruce "Don't Call Me Ash" Campbell in just a few weeks at the Fan Expo in Toronto. *GIRL SCREAM*

Dark Crystal Sequel Announced

Apparently the script has been rewritten by screenwriter Craig Pearce ("Moulin Rouge!", "Romeo + Juliet"), and producer Lisa Henson says that the film is ready to go. Unfortunately fans of the previous film will still have to wait until 2011 for the film to make it to the big screen.
Now if they would only come out with a Labyrinth sequel or something. David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly aren't too old that they couldn't come back for another movie.

New Resident Evil: Degeneration Footage
Being that videogame movies tend to flop, I really hope since Capcom is overseeing the creation of Resident Evil: Degeneration that this movie will be awesome like Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children and not Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within.

Videogame Movies: The Good, The Bad & The Uwe Bolled
Gametrailers.com counted down the worst videogame movies of all time this week, probably in honour of Max Payne flopping in theaters this weekend. While I personally have given up on all modern videogame based movies on actually being a good watch, I thought I would take this opportunity to list my favorite videogame movies from the past.
1. Mortal Kombat
2. Tomb Raider
3. The Wizard
4. Cloak & Dagger
5. Silent Hill
6. Super Mario Bros. (I totally disagree with Gametrailers on that one.)
7. Resident Evil
8. Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
9. Tomb Raider: Cradle of Life
10. The Dungeonmaster
11. Grandma's Boy
12. The Last Starfighter
13. Pokemon: The First Movie
14. Pokemon: The Movie 2000
I highly suggest The Wizard, The Last Starfigher, Cloak & Dagger and The Dungeonmaster for the retro gamers out there.
And just to give you an idea of the crappy videogame based movies that are in store for us, here's a list of movies that are either in production or pre-production right now:
* Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li
* Tekken
* Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
* American McGee’s Alice
* Area 51
* BioShock
* BloodRayne III: Warhammer
* Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars
* Castlevania
* Citizen Siege
* City of Heroes
* Clock Tower
* Cold Fear
* Deus Ex
* Devil May Cry
* Doom 2
* Driver
* Earthworm Jim
* Eternity’s Child
* EverQuest
* Fatal Frame
* Fear Effect
* Gears of War
* God of War
* Halo
* Hunter: The Reckoning
* Kane & Lynch
* The Legend of Spyro
* Lost Planet
* MechWarrior
* Metal Gear Solid
* Metroid
* Mortal Kombat: Devastation
* The Neverhood
* Nightmare Creatures
* Onimusha
* Pac-Man
* Rainbow Six
* Return to Castle Wolfenstein
* Silent Hill 2
* Siren
* Sonic the Hedgehog
* Soulcalibur
* Spy Hunter
* The Sims
* The Suffering
* Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell
* Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
* The Unforgettable
* Warcraft
We've also got three direct to video movies coming out real soon:
* Dead Space: Downfall (October 17, 2008)
* Resident Evil: Degeneration (October 18, 2008)
* Alone in the Dark II (2009)
So much crap to look forward to, expect Resident Evil: Degeneration - Capcom is making that movie much like Square Enix created Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, so that movie should be friggn' awesome.

Comic-Con 08: Resident Evil: Degeneration - UPDATED
UPDATED WITH DIRECT FEED VIDEO, INSTEAD OF SHAKEY CAM VIDEO.
Comic-Con 2008 goers were treated with a new trailer for a Resident Evil movie, but not a sequel to the 3 live action Resident Evil movies. No, this puppy is a brand new CGI Resident Evil movie from Capcom starring our beloved Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield.
Apparently there is a God and he wanted to see Resident Evil movies starring actual Resident Evil characters too.
The movie, Resident Evil: Degeneration takes place 7 years after the incident in Raccoon City, when a new outbreak of the T-Virus is just beginning.

Sony launched New Video Download Service for US Customers

Sony Computer Entertainment America launched the new video delivery service on Playstation Network for Playstation 3 and PSP systems in the United States on July 15th. Gamers now have the ability to download full-length movies, television shows, and original programming accessible through the PSN Store.
With nearly 300 full length movies and more than 1,200 TV episodes, many available in both SD & HD, PSN’s video system will finally allow them to compete with Xbox's marketplace downloads.
Content for rental and electronic purchase will be available from 20th Century Fox, Lionsgate Entertainment, MGM Studios, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Warner Bros. Entertainment, Walt Disney Studios and a variety of television partners.
“PLAYSTATION Network’s video delivery service capitalizes on the superior value and entertainment potential of PS3 and PSP – not only for gaming enthusiasts, but for the millions of consumers looking to buy the best, most versatile solution for their home entertainment system,” said Jack Tretton, president and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America. “The collaboration of Sony’s film, TV and entertainment business units coupled with our hardware and content offerings provide consumers with entertainment experiences unlike any on the market.”
The video delivery service will have full integration in the PSN, utilizing the same login, wallet management, and user interface of the newly revamped PSN Store. Video will be categorized, for example, by top rating, alphabetical order, television shows, and movies and content is also fully searchable, for example, by title, producer, studio and cast. In addition, PS3’s progressive downloading means users can view content shortly after the downloading process begins. Background downloading is also a feature of PS3, allowing users to access other platform features such as gaming and other XMB content while a video is downloading to their consoles.
20th Century Fox’s “Alvin and the Chipmunks”, Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest”, Lionsgate’s “3:10 to Yuma”, MGM’s “Rocky”, Paramount Pictures’ “Cloverfield”, Sony Pictures’ “Spider-Man”, and Warner Bros. Entertainment’s “10,000 B.C.” are a few of the titles available for download on the video service now. Sony will also be introducing original exclusive content such as Xam’d: Lost Memories, an anime series developed by Sony Computer Entertainment Japan, delivered in SD and HD.
Gamers who rent a movie from the video delivery service have 14 days to watch the content. Once content playback is started, consumers have a full 24 hours to enjoy their rental. Pricing for rental movies at launch ranges from $2.99 to $5.99, and pricing for purchased movies ranges from $9.99 to $14.99. Sony has also adopted Marlin Digital Rights Management technology, an open industry standard for protecting and managing digital content, to provide consumers with flexible access to their content while ensuring digital rights are protected. Usage rules of the video download service will allow content for purchase to be shared on multiple activated devices including PS3 and PSP systems per PSN account, depending on the type of content purchased by the user.
In fact, one of the biggest value propositions of PSN’s video delivery service is the ability to transfer digital content onto the PSP from the PS3. For the initial electronic sell-through or rental price, consumers can also transfer content onto multiple devices. The connectivity between PS3 and PSP platforms provides a seamless solution for those looking for entertainment experiences on their own terms – on the go or in their living room – all with a new-found freedom of not having to worry about TV schedules, movie listings or viewing on a desktop PC.

New Max Payne Movie Trailer
Mark Wahlberg stars as DEA Agent Max Payne in the new Max Payne movie, which just so happened to be filmed in Toronto, Canada.
It looks pretty friggn' awesome so far, but with so many bad videogame movies, I'm hoping Mark Wahlberg's great acting skills will save this movie from falling into that trap.
