Leeroy Jenkins at the Movies

We've all known Leeroy Jenkins from World of Warcraft as a lovable internet meme for years now but apparently the movie industry is just now catching up with the phenomenon.

Deleted scenes (phff ... cowards!) from Year One and Monsters vs. Aliens feature parodies of the great Leeroy Jenkins in action and while we, the public, weren't able to see the scenes in the movies themselves, we can see them on ... the internet. Yep, where Leeroy Jenkins, the legend was born!

Hit the jump to see the deleted scene from Monsters vs. Aliens.

Bruce Campcall on World of Warcraft: the Movie

By now, most of us know that Director Sam Raimi has been officially announced as the director for the big screen version of Blizzard's World of Warcraft which should mean that the movie will rock. (As long as Sam doesn't let WoW become another Spiderman 3).

But what this gamer wants to know is, what part will Bruce Campbell play in it? Apparently great minds think alike because IGN.com found the famous Burn Notice and Army of Darkness actor at Comic Con this year and asked the very same question. Bruce, who only recently found out about Sam's job as the new WoW movie director, knew exactly what kind of role he would play in the movie.
Raimi imagined his old friend will tell him, "You play some schmuck. Some idiot guy. Some garbage man."
Fans are already coming up with their own dream roles for Bruce which include ideas like Leroy Jekins, a drunken bar patron or anything that would include an Ash Williams reference. World of Warcraft already has an Army of Darkness reference, so including Ash in the movie would be cool but somehow I don't see Sam or Bruce doing it. So drunken bar patron #1, it is!

Bruce or no Bruce, I personally am looking forward to checking out this movie when it does hit theaters in the future. I'm also looking forward to meeting Bruce "Don't Call Me Ash" Campbell in just a few weeks at the Fan Expo in Toronto. *GIRL SCREAM*

Ozzy Plays World of Warcraft

Ozzy Osbourne is now advertising World of Warcraft. The original Prince of Darkness goes up against the Lich King in this funny little commercial.

Ozzy has been taking an active role in other video games lately like Guitar Hero: World Tour with his excellent motion capture appearance. Good to see old media taking an interest in new media.

The Warcraft Retrospective: Part III

Part III of Gametrailer's history on the Warcraft franchise has finally surfaced and if you've been watching along with me on my blog, you've already checked out the first and second part of the retrospective.

Though I never really got into the World of Warcraft aspect of the franchise, I loved the RTS games in the series and even got my groove on to the disco remix on the expansion disc for Warcraft 2. Who here remembers that?

World of Warcraft My Little Ponies

More wicked My Little Pony customs, this time done as World of Warcraft creatures like the Elf Hunter, Gnome Warlock, Imp and Tiger mount.

This piece were created by BlackAngel-Diana who has quite a few custom ponies to her name on her Deviant Art page. Though not videogame related, I do like her Harry Potter pony which features characters from the series riding on her back.

To think I use to just play and brush the hair of these ponies.

The Warcraft Retrospective: Part One

Gametrailers.com is the one of the best sites for putting together complete history lessons on epic game series. From Metal Gear to Final Fantasy, they've covered some great titles so far, but now they've started a retrospective on Warcraft.

Check out part one.

Day One: Diving into World of Warcraft

I finally got a computer capable of running World of Warcraft and so today I dusted off the game case that has been sitting on my computer desk shelf for the past year. My friend, Josh gave it to me but I couldn't play it till now.

So far I've spent an hour installing this darn game; half an hour to install the 4 disc game and another half hour to download 6% of the patch update. I'm guessing it is taking so long because 2 years of patches requires a lot of downloading time.

Sucks to be me.

I'll post more about my WoW experience once this update downloads and I can actually purchase my account. I hope I can actually do that too. Being that my friend use this game before me, I hope I can still use this copy to start a new account.

World of Warcraft Toyota Commercial

Four Wheels of Fury, baby! I am the Law Giver!
Dude, there's no trucks in World of Warcraft.

This is Toyota's newest commercial featuring the World of Warcraft universe. Personally I don't think that truck would be as cool as weapon as Toyota thinks. Where are players going to find gas after the tank runs dry?
