Number #7 (I couldn't think of more than 10) is the Princess Bride Wedding Scene. Peter Cook is hilarious as the priest. I love that some couples have had their officiant emulate this scene on their wedding day too.

The Girl Gamer's Top Ten Games of 2009
I couldn’t start my list without included one of my favourite franchises, Resident Evil. Resident Evil 5 brought back favourites like Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine and Albert Wesker as well as introducing a few new characters and enemies. Resident Evil started our video game love affair with zombies and it will always be as addictive as the T-Virus is infectious. I plan to check out The Darkside Chronicles on the Nintendo Wii very soon.
9. Ghostbusters: the Video Game
This has been a good year for fan boys in the video game industry and Ghostbusters was just one game to proof that fact. Picking up where the 2nd movie left off, the excellent story line will bring you back into the world of the Ghostbusters as if you never left, and the excellent voice-over work of the original movie cast and funny humour of Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis doesn’t the nostalgia factor either.
8. Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box
Who knew all my knowledge of logic puzzles would finally pay off in video games? Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box, the sequel to the highly cool Professor Layton and the Curious Village, will have you using brain cells you didn’t know you had in order to solve all its many logic puzzles and dark mysteries. Only Nintendo could make learning this fun and addicting. Kudos to the Professor and his assistant on another excellent game and hopefully we’ll see another one of your sequels come to our shores next year.
7. Ratchet and Clank Future: Crack in Time
This was truly a year of new game experiences for me and one of those experiences was my first real Ratchet and Clank game. So many franchises don’t survive to see their next generation of consoles or if they do, they live on a series of failed titles like Sonic the Hedgehog, but Ratchet and Clank is now on their 3rd generation console and they are still rocking the platforming genre. You’ll love this dynamic duo and their crazy arsenal of weapons and gadgets. Bonus points for the awesome weapons commercials shown in the game.
6. New Super Mario Bros. Wii
Like a blast from the past, the New Super Mario Bros. Wii is like playing Super Mario Bros. 3 all over again with a shiny new coat of paint. With a new power-up suits and multiplayer modes, it’s time venture forth into the Mushroom Kingdom with the brothers and save the Princess again. Hopefully she’s not in another castle this time.
5. Halo 3: ODST – Xbox 360
I have to give high props to the first Halo FPS that managed to grab my attention. Halo 3: ODST’s film noir style story line and all-star voice cast made this a fabulous game to kill a Sunday afternoon with. Sure, the campaign mode might be short but you’ll have Firefight mode afterwards to fill the void as well as the second disc full of Halo 3 multiplayer maps if you don’t already own them all. I plan to go back and finish the fight this winter with the first 3 Halo games now that this game has shown me what I’ve been missing.
4. Borderlands – Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC
Imagine Fallout 3 – take out all the extreme walking times between missions, add a 4 player co-op mode and injected some wicked humour and you have Borderlands. This futuristic Mad Max like role-playing game will have you and your friends addicted to its vast landscapes, cool weapons and freaky looking enemies. Fallout 3’s vault will be a thing of the past and Pandora’s legendary vault will be all you can think about all.
3. Batman: Arkham Asylum – Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC
Batman: Arkham Asylum couldn’t have been a more perfect Batman video game and it was hard not to put this game higher on the list after all the crappy games we Batman fans have suffered through over the years, but honestly I can’t let my fan girl love of the Dark Knight affect my decisions. While Batman: Arkham Asylum did sport one of the best storyline lines, amazing game play and one of the best voice-over casts possible, the short ending, crappy Riddler reward and a few other issues kept this game at the number 3 spot.
2. Assassin’s Creed 2 – Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC
From the breath-taking digital recreation of Renaissance Italy to Ezio’s amazing killer moves, Assassin’s Creed will have you loving every minute of this sequel to the Assassin’s Creed franchise. You will be drawn into the story line here and once that’s complete, the side quests and item collection will keep the major perfectionists out there busy. This was an amazing follow-up to Assassin’s Creed which only improved upon the franchise and I can’t wait to check out the first DLC in February.
1. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves - Playstation 3
If you need a reason to purchase a Playstation 3, this Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is it. Heart stopping action, eye popping graphics and interactive game play unlike anything I’ve ever seen. The developers at Naughty Dog have set the bar high for what games should be – interactive Hollywood blockbusters. While this was an amazing year for games, Uncharted 2 is still the clear winner in my mind as the game’s amazing musical score still tugs at my heart strings and the graphics still blow my mind every time I see them. When my brother-in-law bought his Playstation 3 on Boxing Day this year, this was the first game suggestion that popped out of my mouth as would it be to anyone buying the console.
Honourable Mentions: Loco Roco 2, Patapon 2, Little King’s Story and Boom Blox Bash Party.
Best Downloadable Games of the Year
1. Tales of Monkey Island: All Episodes – PC Game, Wiiware
2. Plants vs. Zombies – PC Game
3. Axel & Pixel – Xbox 360
4. Machinarium – PC Game
5. Shadow Complex – Xbox 360
Honourable Mention: Farmville

10 Geeky Laws That Don't Exist ... But Should
These were my two favorites:
- Savage and Hyneman’s Law: Blowing stuff up is fun. Blowing stuff up in the name of science is AWESOME.
- Tolkien and Rowling’s Law: No reasonably faithful movie adaptation of a book will ever be quite as good as the book it adapts. Thus great movie adaptations can only be made out of truly amazing books.

Top Ten Hottest Videogame Guys of 2009
Nathan Drake is like the male version of Lara Croft but without the exaggerated features and its about time, we, gamer girls got our own hunky tomb raider. Honestly I think anyone could see why I would want to watch Nathan's butt swing from ledge to ledge for hours, but if add in his sexy voice, daring adventures and too close for comfort movements with his female companions, then its completely obvious why Nathan is the prime choice for my number one hottie.
2. Sergeant John Forge - Halo Wars
Halo Wars was the first Halo game I actually played and watching cut-scenes with the hunky Sgt. John Forge in them really helped me love this game. Not only is he a sexy military man in body armor but he also saves the girl and gives the ultimate sacrifice. You can't get much more hot and heroic than that.
3. Gunnery Sergeant Edward Buck - Halo 3: ODST
The men of Halo are hot this year. Gunnery Sgt. Edward Buck didn't just steal the heart of Dare, he also stole my heart and probably the heart of a lot of female Halo fans. Voiced by sexy FireFly star, Nathan Fillion, Buck is another military man in body armor that gives Master Chief a run for his money.
4. Batman - Batman: Arkham Asylum and DC vs Mortal Kombat
Do I really need to explain this one? Men in capes and tights are hot. Batman is my personal fav in the super hero realm and after an amazing appearance in Arkham Asylum, he just had to my list. Honorable mention to Commissioner Gordon - he is looking hot for an old guy.
5. Albert Wesker - Resident Evil 5
What can I say - I love a bad boy. Wesker has always made me tingle since I first saw and heard him in Resident Evil: Code Veronica and his appearance in Resident Evil 5 still makes me love him despite his tentacle problem. Wesker just needs a little love and perhaps a woman with a whip to put him in line. I'm totally up for that.
6. Vin Diesel - Wheelman and Chronicle of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena
I love it when real hotties are in videogames like Vin Diesel. Vin had two appearances this year in Wheelman and Chronicles of Riddick and he is totally hot in digital form. Too bad the games weren't. I'd rather have Vin the flesh but playing with his digital copy is nice too. Run for me, baby.
7. Matt Hazzard - Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazzard
Another newbie to the list though the game developers like to have to believe otherwise, Matt Hazzard is another hottie that the ladies love to love. This cute has a great sense of humor and a good knowledge of videogame history. What more does a gamer girl need?
8. Chris Redfield - Resident Evil 5
Chris Redfield is a veteran hottie but that doesn't mean he doesn't have a few new tricks up his sleeve. Chris came out in Resident Evil 5 this year with a whole new look and while I wasn't keen on the roid physical, the sexy face of Chris was still there. Plus once you mow down hordes of zombies with a guy, you just can't help but keep on loving him.
9. Guybrush Threepwood - Tales of Monkey Island and Secret of Monkey Island: SE
If there ever was a pirate with a heart that could out do Will Turner, it would be the original - Guybrush Threepwood. Quick witted and skilled with a bag of items, Guybrush won over the heart of a Governor and he has won over the heart of this girl gamer over and over again.
10. All the Ghostbusters - Ghostbusters: the Videogame
What can I say? I love geeks and the uniforms are just so hot. "Bust'n makes me feel good"

The Girl Gamer's Top Ten Videogames of 2008

1. Fable 2 - Xbox 360
In the land of Albion, everything you choose affects yourself and the world around you, so remember that because the next time you burp in a stranger’s face it might just lead to you developing some glowing, green eyes and a set of horns. Fable 2 tops my list of the best videogames of the year because it had just enough of everything I wanted in a videogame to keep me coming back day after day. From smart-mouthed gargoyles to beautiful environments, the land of Albion provided players with the freedom to do whatever they please and the best place to do it in. How many games will let you massacre an entire town, kill bandits, have 3 spouses and cross-dress if you want to? This is gaming freedom at its best.
2. LittleBigPlanet - Playstation 3
Another game which proves that gamers love the chance to show off their creativity was LittleBigPlanet which had gamers all over the world adopting their very own Sackboy or girl to the start of the journey through a world fuelled by dreams. With the choice of playing the pre-created levels or creating your own, LittleBigPlanet was full of hours of game play and some sweet Sackboy fun.
3. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots - Playstation 3
As next chapter in the Kojima masterpiece, Metal Gear Solid 4 was probably the first game to show how videogames and movies are merging into a single medium. With hours and hours of beautiful cinematic cut scenes and a complex storyline to draw you in, you never minded how much time was spent watching the game as opposed to playing it because you felt like you were helping progress an interactive movie rather than a videogame.
4. Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Precipice of Darkness Episode 1&2 - Xbox Live Arcade, Playstation Network
After spending years poking fun at the gaming industry, creators of the hilarious web comic, Penny Arcade created their own videogame which took all that was moral and sane, and threw it out the window. The final product was a comical role-playing/adventure game which was rolling on the floor, laugh out loud funny. I personally can’t wait to download Episode 3.
5. Boom Blox - Nintendo Wii
When Steven Spielberg and videogames came together, we got the unique and innovative Nintendo Wii title, Boom Blox which had players of all ages addicted to toppling its block formations. Its various game play and easy to pick up controls made this the perfect family game but its complex puzzles kept even the smartest players busy. This year had so many bad third party Nintendo Wii titles that games this good need to be recognized, lest they fall by the wayside and get buried in the bargain bin.
6. Grand Theft Auto IV - Xbox 360, Playstation 3
Rockstar has always managed to raise the bar with each GTA game they release but this time they blew away all previous games in the series as well as any copycat title with GTA IV. From the living city to the meaningful characters, this game gave new life to the GTA series and provide that the guys at Rockstar still knew how to make a sell out videogame. Hopefully new “The Lost & Damned” downloadable content available in February will be just as good as the main storyline for this game.
7. God of War: Chains of Olympus - Playstation Portable
If all PSP games were this good, the Nintendo DS wouldn’t have a leg to stand on but unfortunately God of War: Chains of Olympus is very alone as the handheld masterpiece that it is. It was just as good as playing GoW2 on the PS2, but just on a smaller screen and that’s hard to say that about any PSP game, even the PS2 ports. If you own a PSP and you don’t own this game, then you need to drop everything and buy it now because this is the system seller.
8. Spore - PC
Though it may have not been the game that we were all promised, Spore was still a highly addictive and creative game from the mind of gaming genius, Will Wright. The freedom to control everything from your creature’s looks to its movement gave players a vast artistic outlet and the massive amount of user content on the internet from this game proves it. This was several games in one and possible one of the best deals in gaming this year for your money.
9. Professor Layton and the Curious Village - Nintendo DS
This Nintendo DS had players following the whimsical Professor Layton into a village of puzzles and tons of head-scratching fun. The Professor made logic puzzles cool and top hats even cooler. The cute animation cut scenes made the game fun to watch as much as it was to play and I know happily that I’m not the only gamer looking forward to the sequel’s release in North America, so expect more logic puzzle fun with the Professor to head our side of the planet soon.
10. Patapon - Playstation Portable
With its cast of one-eyed warriors and soundtrack of toe-tapping tunes, you can’t deny this Patapon was definitely drumming to its own beat which made it stand out amongst a sea of PSP titles. This unique and innovative music game managed to ensnare tons of PSP players with its siren song and happily, the sequel for this charming game has been recently announced so soon there will be more attacking to the beat.

Videogame Movies: The Good, The Bad & The Uwe Bolled
Gametrailers.com counted down the worst videogame movies of all time this week, probably in honour of Max Payne flopping in theaters this weekend. While I personally have given up on all modern videogame based movies on actually being a good watch, I thought I would take this opportunity to list my favorite videogame movies from the past.
1. Mortal Kombat
2. Tomb Raider
3. The Wizard
4. Cloak & Dagger
5. Silent Hill
6. Super Mario Bros. (I totally disagree with Gametrailers on that one.)
7. Resident Evil
8. Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
9. Tomb Raider: Cradle of Life
10. The Dungeonmaster
11. Grandma's Boy
12. The Last Starfighter
13. Pokemon: The First Movie
14. Pokemon: The Movie 2000
I highly suggest The Wizard, The Last Starfigher, Cloak & Dagger and The Dungeonmaster for the retro gamers out there.
And just to give you an idea of the crappy videogame based movies that are in store for us, here's a list of movies that are either in production or pre-production right now:

* Siren
* Sonic the Hedgehog
* Soulcalibur
* Spy Hunter
* The Sims
* The Suffering
* Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell
* Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
* The Unforgettable
* Warcraft
We've also got three direct to video movies coming out real soon:
* Dead Space: Downfall (October 17, 2008)
* Resident Evil: Degeneration (October 18, 2008)
* Alone in the Dark II (2009)
So much crap to look forward to, expect Resident Evil: Degeneration - Capcom is making that movie much like Square Enix created Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, so that movie should be friggn' awesome.

Life in a video game: the pros and cons

What if tomorrow morning you woke up and your life was exactly like your favorite video game?

Imagine getting stuck in a rock for an hour because of a glitch in the matrix or being forced to kill a monster every friggn' five minutes just to get to McDonalds for a Big Mac.Well, hit the jump for a list of the 10 pros and cons of living in a video game world and then you can decide whether it would be worth living in a virtual world.

Top Ten Hottest Video Game Guys
10 – Solid Snake from the Metal Gear Series - 26 Votes
09 – Sir Auron from Final Fantasy X - 29 Votes
08 – Kurtis Trent from Tomb Raider Series - 30 Votes
07 – Vincent Valentine from Final Fantasy VII - 31 Votes

02 - Link from The Legend of Zelda series - 47 Votes
01 –
10 – Solid Snake: This hunky clone first appeared in 1987 in Metal Gear as a rookie solider working for an organization called Foxhound. After appearing in 6 more Metal Gear games, Snake has snuck his way into our lady gamer hearts with his bad ass attitude and tortured past. When you think about it, Snake is the perfect man; he’s quiet, he follows orders, he’s willing to eat anything and if he dies, you can just clone him again. Perfect, really!
9 – Sir Auron: Older can be sexy! Auron first appeared in Final Fantasy X as the mysterious guide to a young Tidus. Even though his arm was damaged in a pervious fight, Auron has still able to swing his big ass sword and impress the hell out of us. Auron is another case of a man with a mysterious, tortured past that makes you just want to hold him forever. Poor Auron, I’ll make it all better.
8 – Kurtis Trent: This pixilated hottie first appeared in Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness as the ex-Legionnaire and adventurer that joins forces with Lara Croft to combat the Cabal and Eckhardt. Though some people weren’t too thrilled with having to play this male character as opposed to just Lara in the game, he still managed to raid our hearts. This hunky brunette is so popular, he even has his own online fan club called Kurtis Trent Estrogen Brigade, or KTEB for short, which is the reason I think Kurtis sits in this top ten list. Kurtis thanks his fan for the support! Their website can be found here at The Sanitarium.
7 – Vincent Valentine: This dark and mysterious character was a bonus character found in the Final Fantasy VII. Vincent also makes an appearance in the movie, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, where we really get to see him in all his CGI glory and damn does he look good. Vincent’s history is a little sketchy, but I far as I could figure he was a member of The Turks, before he was tragically turned into another of Shinra’s human experiments, but as usual we, ladies, love the guy’s with the tragic past and with a lost love mixed in with Vincent’s past, we really can’t resist this dark haired handsome.
6 - Cloud: Okay, so Final Fantasy VII didn’t have the best graphics to justify Cloud as a hottie; I mean how can you get turned on by a guy with blocks for hands, and a huge spiky hair cut, but the newest version of Cloud in Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children is a definite hottie and reminds us why we fell in love with Cloud in the first place. Dark and dangerous heroes will a mysterious past will always grab the attention of the ladies. Plus you gotta love a guy who carries a huge ass sword.
5 – Sephiroth: This naughty boy first appeared in Final Fantasy VII as the evil white haired hottie that our heroes must stop from destroying the world. Seen as perhaps the best video game villain of all time, you can’t dispute the fact that Sephiroth is a totally hottie and even though he’s killed lots of people and made a lot of video gamers cry (AERITH! NO!), we can’t help but love him and his evil ways. Sephiroth makes an appearance in several other games, but he looks the best in the new movie, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, where he is resurrected sporting a new pair of badass wings. What is it that makes a set of wings so hot?
2, Before Crisis, Itadaki Street Special, Last Order: Final Fantasy VII, and in a new game for the PSP, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII.
4 – Squall Leonhart: Another Final Fantasy hottie on this list! What is it with our obsession with feminine men? Never mind. This wavy brown haired hottie first appeared in Final Fantasy VIII has the first graphically good-looking hero in the Final Fantasy series. Squall, sometimes known as
3 – Dante: Another white haired bad ass, Dante first appeared in Devil May Cry, where he plays a devil/human that must save the world from the return of Mundus, the Emperor of Demons. This is another example of a pastless hero that has worked his way into our hearts. Best of all, he has a twin brother, Virgil, and who doesn’t like the thought of twins. Dante returns for 2 amazing sequels and continues to make us swoon.

2 – Link: Though Link has appeared in many different incarnations in his games, we all know that this is Hyrule hero will always be the same at heart. First appearing in the 1986 game, The Legend of Zelda, Link has won us over with his tireless efforts to always save Princess Zelda, no matter the time or place. With so many Playstation and Xbox heros dominating this list, it was nice to see one Nintendo hero make it on here. I believe Link was the first video game heart throb and he will always bring us back for more.
Games – The Legend of Zelda, Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link, The Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, The Legend of Zelda: Majoria’s Mask, The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons, The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages, The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, The Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap, The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and Super Smash Bros. Melee.

1- Leon S. Kennedy: This hunk first appeared in Resident Evil 2 as a Raccoon City Police Officer trying to survive the zombie attack and escape the city before it gets nuked. He later made another appearance as the hero hired to rescue the president’s daughter in Resident Evil 4.This hunk has it all: martial art skills, firearm training and a cool bomber jacket.Plus you gotta love a man who knows how to take out a zombie in one shot.
Games – Resident Evil 2, 4 and a non-continuity spin-off, Resident Evil Gaiden
