Women in Gamestop Stores: Riff Track Edition

I'm not even sure if this is a real training video or a joke but who ever added the riff track is a genius. Honestly though, I hope that Gamestop doesn't think of their female customers are complete lost airheads or this will be just one more reason for me to continue shopping at the other guy's stores. Women shoppers are not deers in the headlights that need you big customer service reps to talk down to us.

Foamy talks about New and Used Games

I totally agree with Foamy and his rant on Gamestop or EB Games as they're called here in Canada.

I stopped shopping at EB Games a long time ago for multiple reasons, a couple of them being the whole new game in an open box deal and the pressure to buy extended warranties and such.

New Gaming Trade Site Open

A lot of gamers have given up on places like Gamestop, EB Games and eBay for selling their games and turned to places like Goozex.com to trade their games for other titles.

A new trading site launched today though that removes the need for point systems, fees or credit cards. At SwitchGames.com, Gamers are able to trade any game from any system as well as systems and accessories.

The site comes complete with an interactive community that helps gamers make perfect traders for the games they want.
“Our mission is to empower and protect the gamer,” said founder and CEO Jason Crawford. “SwitchGames is an open marketplace created by gamers for gamers where members easily connect and trade with each other. As we roll out this initial version we welcome feedback from the gamer community to help us shape a marketplace where they can stretch their budgets.”

Fallout 3 Collector's Edition has Creepy Bobble Head

Game Stop announced yesterday all the wonderful goodies that gamers will get along with the Fallout 3 Collector's Edition and so far it seems a pretty good deal for an extra ten bucks. For only $69.99US for PC or $79.99 for PS3 or Xbox 360, gamers will receive:

  • Fallout 3: From the creators of the award-winning Oblivion comes one of the most realized game worlds ever created. Create any kind of character you want and explore the open wastes of post-apocalyptic Washington, D.C. Every minute is a fight for survival as you encounter Super Mutants, Ghouls, Raiders, and other dangers of the Wasteland. Prepare for the future.

  • Vault Boy Bobblehead: Enjoy your very own Vault Boy with this collector’s item direct from Vault-Tec.

  • The Art of Fallout 3: This hardcover book features nearly 100 pages of never-before seen concept art and commentary from Bethesda Game Studios artists.

  • The Making of Fallout 3: Get an exclusive, inside look at Bethesda Game Studios and the team behind the game with this special DVD.

  • Vault-Tec Lunch Box: The entire package comes in a fully customized metal lunchbox.

Not too shabby for the cost of two happy meals! I like the whole lunch box deal, though the Vault Boy bobble head is a little creepy. I'm jealous that Nick Chester, Editor in Chief at Destructoid got his lunch box and bobble head last year from Bethesda, but considering he's the only guy with an exclusive picture of these items, I'm glad someone has them at least so we could see what they look like.

Enjoy the swag, Nick! I personally would keep that bobble head in any room of my house but my bedroom to avoid nightmares.

Half-Life 2 set for 2007 Xbox 360 release

By James Orry - 30/05/2006 - 11:41am GMT

The Buzz: A listing of Half-Life 2 for the Xbox 360 on EBGames and Gamestop has fuelled speculation that the FPS is heading to the Xbox 360.

Half-Life 2 for the PC may have arrived towards the back end of 2004, with the game also appearing on Xbox in 2005, but that hasn't stopped talk of Valve's genre defining shooter making its way to the Xbox 360.

Well now it appears that there may be some more truth in the rumour, with the US retailers EBGames and Gamestop listing the game for release on Xbox 360 in February, 2007. Valve has responded to the listing, neither confirming of denying the game's existence.

"We've only announced development for 360," said a Valve rep. "No specific titles to reveal just yet, but folks can expect to hear more before the end of this year."

We'll keep you posted of any more information regarding the release of Half-Life 2 for the Xbox 360.
