Stop Motion Animation with Perler Beads

The Pixelgasm forum's newest member, Hardened Heart posted this recently - this guy must have the patience of a Buddhist master to be able to bead and then remove each item for this video.

Epic 8-Bit Art: 3D Super Mario Bros. 3 World 1 Map

This cool piece of art was created by fellow Pixelgasm forum member, Justin aka NES--Still-the-Best. It's a 3D version of World 1 in Super Mario Bros. 3.  Pretty sweet, huh?

Justin is pretty good at making these 3D scenes and has made several NES 3D pictures before like this Mario scene above. Check out more of his work at Deviant Art.

Super Mario Bros. - Pulp Fiction Style

Jeremie Duval put together a sweet animation staring Mario in the style of Tarantino. Poor Mushroom Kingdoms bastards never knew what hit them.

Epic 8-Bit Art: Super Monkey Island Bros.

Telltale Games still hasn't announced the winners of the Halloween contest but there are still so great entries showing up on the blog and in the forums from the contest.

This gem I found in the forums from a user named Yoshiwam. It's the Monkey Island gang dressed up as members of the Super Mario Bros. crew. LeChuck as Mario, Guybrush as Luigi, Elaine as Peach, Stan as Toad, Murray as Yoshi and even a rubber chicken with a pully is seen in the background as a power-up. Classic!

Epic 8-Bit Art: The Mario Generation

This is my newest creation: Mario through the 2D generations on canvas. I created all the small marios, power-up mushrooms and big marios from Super Mario Bros. 1-3 and Super Mario World and fixed them to painted canvases.

Okay, so I am selling it - $40 plus shipping - its available on Etsy now.

A Real Life Warp Pipe

Does it warp me ahead to level 8?

My buddy, Mike found this cool looking warp pipe by a fresh spring and though he didn't find an Koopa Troopers or Piranha Plants inside, he still thought it was cool enough to share it with me.

Now if only we could find some real life Mario Mushrooms?

Super Mario Rube Goldberg Machine - UPDATED WITH VIDEO

Teams of students competing in the 22nd annual National Rube Goldberg Machine Contest had one goal: Replace an incandescent light bulb with a more efficient CFL. This year's winner created a machine based on the world of Super Mario Bros.

One of our readers left us a comment with a link to a video for this machine in action, so here it is. Thanks Andrew.

Amongst the other cool entries were a Batman: Dark Knight machine, a Dinosaur machine, and a Clue Board game machine.
