My Sims Kingdom Announced for Fall 2008

Happy Happy Joy Joy!

EA announced today the first details for their new games, My Sims Kingdom, which will be coming to the Nintendo Wii and DS systems exclusively in Autumn 2008.

MySims Kingdom will set you on a story of adventure, discovery and exploration to help King Roland and his subjects revitalize the Kingdom. Gamers will be tasked to bring the Kingdom back to its former glory, and to help new and old friends alike, discover new lands and build to the limit of your imagination.

You'll be able to explore the Capital City, meet new friends, including King Roland, Princess Butter, and the Wizard Marlon and finally after a while, set sail to other lands to explore the world further.

Throughout your journey, new characters, lands, and clever new contraptions will be revealed. You'll construct and do everything from tending your pigs to finding treasure chests. Newly-added building options will help you accomplish the tasks you're challenged with along the way, including building broken bridges. Everything is customizable, allowing every creation within your world to have a signature look.

My Sims Kingdom on Nintendo DS will allow gamers to add a new chapter to the saga, challenging them to help the King thwart the plans of evil in a far flung corner of the Kingdom. Many new activities and mini-games will be included to help you persuade the King that your island is the ultimate royal destination.

"MySims has been met with such enthusiasm by players and families everywhere, we are excited to make MySims its own franchise within The Sims Label," said Rod Humble, Head of Studio for The Sims Label. "MySims Kingdom has players helping King Roland and his subjects make the MySims world a better place by completing rewarding quests, building houses, bridges or even making contraptions powered by electricity or water. And MySims Kingdom on Nintendo DS, adds many new activities such as kayaking, ski jumping, populating the town zoo and many others!"

Expect to see more on this game before its release in the Fall of 2008.

I've been waiting for this game since last summer(the summer of living, sleeping, dreaming MySims!), when I pretty much built the cr*p out of everything and slowly got bored after a couple months..... this is one of my most favorite games EVER. Being a girl gamer, its hard to not feel overwhelmed by all of the cookie-cutter shooting/fighting games. Been there, done that. Give me something different! MySims delivers in the customization possibilities of building something that is completely original, and you can rest with the satisfaction of knowing you're the only one that has that item. Oh, and gotta love the cute characters too :)

I just got this game today. I've been playing it for the last few hours. i was very surprised to see that there is not any object building which was one of the biggest points of the game - the possibility of designing yourself one-of-a-kind furniture. I knew they were taking away the long loading times, but at this price? Well, admittedly, its still a very good, *addicting* game. I just kind of miss all the countless hours spent customizing my own furniture, but maybe its just me.

I'm already minorly stuck on one part... the only bad thing about getting a game before anybody else is that there arent any walkthroughs, hints, or tips available on the net to help you out.

Bottom line: If you are expecting a fun MySims game, you wont be disappointed. Just dont expect any furniture building if you actually liked it, like I did...

I have to revise my anonymous post above, where I had played it for a few hours.... I've pretty much beat the game and I have to say that I'm disappointed with the game. Don't get me wrong, the storyline and the extra stuff EA threw on there was fun. But for a gamer that really enjoyed playing the original and was looking forward to the second one because of having so much fun on the first one - well, it was frankly, very disappointing. Can you say "big fat "F""??

The best part of the MySims game was the originality allowed in building custom objects! Painting with the collected essences! My Lord EA!! You totally got rid of the real essence of the MySims game in favor of a storyline where you play building slave to the kingdom's inhabitants! So what if the loading screen was a lag... isn't the second one supposed to bring a solution to the problems found in previous versions? Getting rid of a problem is NOT a solution... its *completely dismissing the essence* of what the original game had to offer - one-of-kind customization of objects unique to the player. I cannot believe I waited almost a year for this game! If I could return it I would! Its not as fun as the original because there are only so many times you can re-arrange the furniture in people's houses! This game is not Animal Crossing(!!!) where collecting furniture is acceptable because in that game: 1) there are many, many, many different types of furniture to collect, and 2) there are scores of other activities that require your attention - like keeping up with seasons and seasonal items, etc. You cannot give us a "building" type game like MySims, and expect us to be happy about it when the only things we can technically "build" are the layouts of homes and some minor pipe-laying.

My God, EA, were you guys given no time to develop this game? What happened? Im usually pleasantly surprised by the games you guys put out with the Sims line, but this one really burned me. Its nice to know you value trying to catch the attention of first-time buyers over loyal fans of yours.

Please come out with a third MySims - and this time - please combine the focus of building on interior objects(like the original), as well as the exterior and a nice storyline(like this second one). And dont insult the intelligence and design capabilities of your players by delivering pre-made objects to play with, mmkay?

I think EA really blew it this time! This game was supposed to be the best game EVER but it just turned out to be really stupid! If you ever make something that is a sequel to the first one it has to be better that the first! DUH! I am really disapointed and if you are thinking a bout buying this game ... DON'! It makes no since and there is no point! Re0 arranging someones furniture can get pretty boring after a while! Also why can't we design our own it's not like we are three year olds!

My Sims is a wicked game! I got it as a early Christmas pressie. It is like mysims in the way of the graphics but nothing like it in the sence that there are lots of challenges in the games and lots of things to find. Hope that helps you decide if u want to get it!
