[UPDATED: If it smell like a joke ... turns out the stupid website was just a rick roll. The latest blog ends with the lyrics from the Rick Ashley song. How boring. I liked the Christian nutcase blog better.]
Gotta love the right-wing religious nutcases.
The blog, Anti-Spore has grown out of the mold in the tubes of the internet recently in order to spout its hateful and apparently necessary message of warning to anyone playing Will Wright's newest game, Spore.
Right now everyone is hoping this site is a huge joke put on by someone to maybe promote the game. So far the site hasn't gotten the attention of more people who are willing to defend the game and Will Wright, so it would work in EA's favor.
The site is apparently run by an anonymous Christian who prefers to post such intelligent points like this:
"You would think that as a member of the Episcopal Church, a smart man like Will Wright would not be capable of creating Spore. However, we must be reminded that the Episcopal Church is the only church in america that ordains homosexuals on a regular basis"
on their blog without the balls to back it up with a name. In my opinion, if you want to protest something or someone, then at least give a name to stand behind your opinion otherwise it means nothing.
Of course, the Internet Trolls have found their way to this site as well and managed to make all of us who want to defend Will Wright and his ingenious game look like a bunch of war-mongering buffoons, so congrats to the idiots who leave the threats of violence. Nice way to argue your point.
I just hope this person really doesn't think this way. Will Wright obviously goes to Church (see above quote) and must believe in God, and there for must not what to insult God. He just created a great game where people can experience what its like to create a species and help it grow.
What's wrong with wanting to understand how hard it is to be God and respecting what he/she does?
