Link's Awakening: Now with Puppets

The Japanese always have the best commercials.

This is a weird commercial for the Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening for the Gameboy. Gotta love anything with strange puppets. Too bad that puppet was available for sale because I know tons of fanboys who would purchase it in a second.

Real Pikachus Sold in Japan for $925 Million

Oh, if only these were real!

Those I'm pretty sure this picture is photoshopped that apparently didn't stop someone with too much money from spending $925 million dollars on 20 "real live Pikachus" on a Japanese Yahoo! auction site.

Who knows? Maybe they are real. Japan is doing amazing thing nowadays with science - they could be genetically modified hamsters or something. But honestly? $925 million!

But who could pass up such a great deal? The seller even offered to throw in a 60 minute video on how to raise your Pikachu if you bought 3 months worth of Pokemon food from them.

Games that Need a Remake or Re-Release: Secret of Mana

While everyone can squeal and jump for joy as Square Enix continues to make over or re-release every damn Final Fantasy game known to man, this little fangirl is still completely lost without her favorite Square Enix game still sitting at the bottom of their importance pile.

Secret of Mana was an action role-playing game released on the Super Nintendo on October 3, 1993 in North America, but in Japan it was released as Seiken Densetsu 2 on August 6, 1993.

The game featured three characters, a young boy named Randi, a young girl named Purim and a young sprite named Popoie, who all join together to help reforge the legendary Mana Sword, defeat the empire that wants to control the mana seeds and ultimately restore the Mana Fortress that once tried to destroy the world.

There is a glimmer of hope though ...

While I thought I was doomed to either download the game through a ROM or finally cracked and buy a Super Nintendo to play the game again, I found out that this September Japan is getting Secret of Mana on the Virtual Console which means that we might be getting the game in North America soon.

OH KALOU KALAY!

I still would love to see Square Enix make a version for the Nintendo DS either as a re-release or as 3D remake, but a virtual console release would be friggn' awesome too.

Remember that acid you did once in college just to impress that hot, female med student? Well, you're about to relive that moment, as you watch the newest Japanese trailer for Onsei Kanjou Sokuteiki: Kokoro Scan for the Nintendo DS.

Full of bears that rock out with their hair balls out, people with hearts over their faces, and a little condom man running around with bow ties on, the Kokoro Scan trailer is like a Katamari game with ecstasy icing on top.

This game isn't really a game though, it's more like expensive mood ring software for your DS. Using Sensibility technology, developed by SGI Japan and AGI, the software converts the user's voice into groups of numbers and analyzes them to indicate their current mood. The software also gives you a rating in 5 different categories: anger, joy, disappointment, normality and excitement. Does that mean the color green doesn't signify you’re horny anymore?

Though I don't see many practical uses for this technology, the voice tension detection feature will be fun to use on your girlfriend to see if she's lying about the size of your d ... uh, nose. I do think if you're sitting next to someone on the bus, and they get a low normality rating and a high anger rating, you should get off at the next stop. Trust me.

Kokoro Scan will be released by Sega for the Nintendo DS around August 2007 in Japan for about 2,700 yen. No word if Kokoro Scan will be coming to North America, but Sega does promise to use the sensibility technology for future games. I'm sure hippies worldwide will be happy to know that.
