Nintendo has just announced a new Mario game for the Wii - New Super Mario Bros. Wii which will allow up to 4 players at a time to play on screen together. Players can play together in a co-op mode to collect coins and power ups in world similiar to the New Super Mario Bros. game on the Nintendo DS or they can play against each other.
New power ups include a propeller suit and classics like power up mushrooms. Levels include a flag pole ending that once touched by a player allows 3 seconds for other players to touch it in order for them to gain bonus points. After wards, the game tallies up all the players scores - coins, time, etc., at end to determine who won the level.
The New Super Mario Bros. Wii will be available for the holiday season in 2009.
